Working Toward a Different Narrative of Accountability: A Report from British Columbia

This speech given at the Annual General Meeting of the British Columbia Teachers Federation on March 20, 2012 describes the current climate of neo-liberal driven accountability, a relationship between the provincial government and teachers that has existed since 2001 and has steadily eroded since then. An alternative narrative of accountability is offered, one that encourages teachers to spend time building relationships at the local school level.
